Harvard WorldMUN

The Harvard World Model United Nations Conference is held annually (around March-April) at a different venue, somewhere around the world, each year. It is run as a joint collaboration by Harvard University and the host university, which is chosen up to a year in advance. At the end of March 1999, that year's WorldMUN was held in Cambridge, England. It was the most ambitious and widely attended WorldMUN conference organised to date. It happened as a result of much effort on the part of all involved, and was greatly enjoyed by all.

CamWorld

Cambridge WorldMUN was set up as a Cambridge University society many months prior to the conference to organise its smooth running at this side of the pond. After the conference, after the celebrations were out of the way and the accounts finalised, we realised that there was going to be a certain amount of capital available. Our Constitution, later to become the basis of CamWorld Trust's Trust Deed, stated that the primary object of the society was to "further MUN in Cambridge". To this end, it was decided that the best use of this money and other money donated to the society was to use it by managing the capital carefully and giving grants to causes who needed it most to further Cambridge MUN. In this way, it was decided, help could be given to as many individuals and groups as needed it.
